Ivey leads and Elky lurks

On 16th day at the WSOP 2012, two more events were conducted but someone who stole the show is none other than Phil Ivey. After having two final tables in the previous week and a marvelous second-place finish in the $10k Pot Limit Hold’em, Phil Ivey is the leading the tournament with 27 poker players were left in the Event 24.

On the other hand, Grospellier went off the lead in search for another bracelet because in Event 23, $3k No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed it was Ivey who won the match. Ivey was seen stacking pots relentlessly as the day came to an end.

At the end of the match, Ivey grabbed 446,500 to bind a solid chip heading towards the final day over the great Dan Kelly in the second position with 297,000. The remaining 27 is piled with tough competitors like Mike Matusow, Bart Hanson, Scotty Nguyen, Joe Cassidy and Peter Eastgate. All of them are in top 10.

Online pro Steven Chidwick hangs around the lead pack and on the other hand, Ray Davis is hanging on as a shorter stack. Other players who were the part of the tournament are Shannon Shor, Andy Bloch, James Dempsey and John Juanda. But the centre of attraction was Ivey who won $294,777 and his eyes are now set on his ninth bracelet.
