SEED WINS TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Huck Seed has won the Tournament of Champions at the 2010 World Series of Poker and takes home $500,000 prize money.
Seed is a four-time WSOP bracelet winner and beat Howard Lederer in the final heads up play.
The Tournament of Champions disappeared for three years, but was renewed with the public voting for their favorite World Series of Poker bracelet winners.
The top 20 qualified as did previous Tournament of Champions winners and WSOP Main Event winners. There were two sponsor exemption.s
27 people sat down at the tables on on June 27th. Play extended over eight days with a 16 hour final session to declare Huck Seed the winner. Seventeen players made the final day
Lederer started with chip lead of 468,000 to 342,000 for Huck Seed. Lederer was just one card away from winning, with Seed all in. However, Seed sucked out on the river to hit a straight and double up into the lead.
The final hand had Lederer moved all in with Q-8 which was called by Seed with A-2. The board ran 7-6-6-9-A to give Seed the first prize check of $500,000 and the title of “Champion of Champions”.
